We are looking engineers that understand the whole development process, who knows how to write clean and maintainable code, can debug memory leaks and threading problems with ease and knows how to build and package software into a final product. Fluendo offers a unique opportunity for professional growth where you will be working on several operating systems, different devices (desktops, embedded devices, mobile platforms or the cloud), native API's and frameworks over the full software stack, state-of-the-art technology and open source projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work in our multimedia stack built on top of the Open Source GStreamer framework.
  • Design and implement new features in our existing products such as our Multimedia SDK's.
  • Maintain our video / audio codecs and other multimedia elements.
  • Develop and maintain our HbbTV solution.
  • Work on the build systems that builds and package our products.
  • Occasionally work on consultancy projects.

Qualifications

  • You have a strong Computer Science background.
  • You are autonomous and you like solving problems.
  • You have experience creating well-organized, architecturally-sound software from scratch.
  • You have good debugging skills, specially with other people's code.
  • You understand the whole development process.
  • You know how to test code and design it with that in mind.
  • You have a lot of experience with C (C++ also a plus).
  • You know how to write cross-platform code that runs in Linux / Windows / OS X
  • You have an experience in multimedia frameworks (GStreamer, FFmpeg, DirectShow)
  • You know how video / audio codecs and muxers work.
  • You have very good oral and written English skills to communicate with international teams
  • You know in dept Knowledge in build systems (autotools, Visual Studio, XCode, CMake)

We would also like if:

  • You have scripting experience with Python
  • You have worked with OpenGL
  • You have experience developing for Embedded systems.
  • You have Android / iOS experience

We are looking for a Technical Marketing Engineer with a strong background in digital marketing and sales engineering, passionate about multimedia technology trends, and able to communicate Fluendo competitive advantage through the selected industries. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for positioning Fluendo products and solutions for multiple audiences – customers, partners, open source communities, and technical press - with a focus on competitive differentiation.
  • Design, plan and execute Fluendo products and services content strategy - website, technical presentations, white papers, blog, video, application notes - to provide customers with confidence to select and adopt our solutions.
  • Conduct market analysis through regular customer and partner surveys and interaction.
  • Spend time engaging with product management, sales, and customers to understand and highlight our unique value proposition.
  • Closely work with the Technical Product Manager to provide technical direction and validation on any campaign assets that are being developed.
  • Participating in product launches to build technical product messaging, pitching Fluendo’s technology to customers, partners, communities, developing product collateral and sales tools and general support of the launch plan.
  • Evangelizing and demonstrating Fluendo multimedia products and services at Conferences, Tradeshows, and Technical Sales Training to customers.

Qualifications

  • You have prior experience as a Technical Marketing Engineer or as Sales Engineer.
  • You are passionate about multimedia technology, with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You have ability to effectively articulate and showcase technology with flair, and to different types of audience
  • You have experience establishing value and translating this to effective technology-based demonstration use cases.
  • You are aware of new multimedia trends and you have the ability to learn technologies quickly.
  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented and possessing a high level of integrity.
  • You are a team player that works well in collaborative situations and start-up environments.

We also like if you have:

  • Experience in any of the following industries: Streaming, OTT, Broadcasting, or Gaming.

We use Jira to manage epics, stories, issues and bugs and each team works with the methodology that fits their needs best. Our support team also helps the engineering team in the first level support trying to triage and provide as much information as possible to reproduce bugs. But ourselves and our users have a very high standard for quality and following good practices is not enough to ensure the quality we expect when releasing new versions… and this is where we need you!

We are building the QA department from the ground up and as a SQA Engineer you will be responsible of re-designing the current SQA processes in the company for the different teams, implement testing protocols and strategies in the development process and automate tests as much as possible, with the final goal to ensure a much better quality in our product releases. Our ideal candidate should have a focus on users' satisfaction and be able to coordinate efforts with the support, product and engineering team towards this goal.

Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents with the product team to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Help the engineering team writing better tests scenarios.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities for new releases.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs in coordination with the support team.
  • Track quality assurance metrics.

Qualifications

  • You have a Computer Science background.

  • Lead the product life cycle from design to development, releases and support for our products.
  • Research and identify new opportunities to innovate and improve existing products.
  • Establish product goals and develop roadmap.
  • Define product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Prioritize tasks balancing business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Work with cross-functional teams towards a complete user experience.
  • Support marketing and sales writing product release notes, FAQ's and help writing user guides.
  • Perform product demonstrations at events.

Qualifications

  • You have a strong Computer Science background.
  • You have worked in the past as a software developer.
  • You have at least 3 years of related experience managing technical products built for developers (frameworks, API's, productivity tools, etc...).
  • You have created products from scratch for developers.
  • You are familiar with multimedia pipelines, you know how video players are built, what a video decoder/encoder is and how video is streamed.
  • You understand Agile methodologies.
  • You are a Jira (or other project management tool) power user.
  • You have experience working with engineering and quality teams to develop and launch features.
  • You have good influencing and negotiation skills when dealing with all levels of the organization,
  • You have proven experience translating customer requirements into technical solutions, meeting both internal and external needs.
  • You have a passion to challenge existing processes and tools with an employee-first mind-set.
