Fluendo is an established leading provider of multimedia plug-ins for the GNU/Linux Market, and has succeeded in offering legal end-to-end solutions working with multiple formats and platforms.
After the success obtained with the Fluendo DVD Player for Linux, Open Solaris users expressed their desire for Fluendo DVD Player to be able to playback DVDs on their operating system. Ever since its first release last July, the Open Solaris community have been waiting for a legal solution capable of integrating an application that profits from Fluendo audio and video codecs to reproduce DVDs.

“With Fluendo DVD Player, it will be possible to playback DVDs on the Open Solaris desktop. This is excellent news since we are taking an important step towards improving the experience of Open Solaris users” said Richard Barr, Director of Sun Microsystems Global Sales & Services ISV Solutions.
