IBC 2026 recap: C2PA, WebRTC, and the next era of broadcasting

It’s been a few days since IBC 2026 wrapped up, and the momentum from Amsterdam is still driving our team. The event was another success for Fluendo, a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with the industry and dive into the innovations shaping the future of multimedia technology.

This year, exhibiting in the Content Everywhere zone, our showcase centered on a pressing industry challenge: the growing demand for content authenticity and provenance. This focus took center stage when our Head of Innovation, Andoni Morales Alastruey, returned to the show’s official agenda to present our recent work: “Open Source C2PA live-streaming ingestion with WebRTC using Digitally Signed Content.” Seeing a full house for this session confirmed just how critical verifiable media has become in live broadcasting. The conversations that followed the presentation (both at our booth and in smaller meetings) were very valuable.
